A Los Angeles woman has retained the services of Benson & Bingham for injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Client was visiting Las Vegas for a work related convention. Upon checking out of her hotel she summonsed a cab to transport her to McCarran Airport where she occupied the front passenger seat. Upon the Cab drivers approach to Client’s terminal, the cab driver inadvertently passed Client’s exit. Rather than loop around the airport, Driver preformed an illegal u-turn on a one way road directly into on-coming traffic.
The Driver later stated that his intention was to travel back and enter the correct exit. However, immediately upon Driver completing his illegal maneuver, he narrowly missed a head on collision only to swerve and violently side swipe another vehicle. Both vehicles involved were totaled.
Client presented to her doctors in Los Angeles where she complained of neck pain and radicular symptoms. She underwent a course of physical therapy with her pain levels failing to subside. She was sent our for an MRI which revealed a significant disc bulge in her cervical vertebra. Client is currently scheduled to undergo a double level anterior fusion and discectomy surgery in June.
