Two women were killed this week in a terrible car accident in Las Vegas. A driver, who seemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drove right into a group of pedestrians.  Of the group hurt in the Southern Nevada hit and run car crash, three were struck and two were killed. But, there's a unique element to this tragic event. The two who were killed in the DUI hit and run auto accident in Las Vegas were related. In fact, they were actually mother and daughter. The serious traffic fatality wreck took place in the central part of the Las Vegas valley, close to the cross streets of Eastern Avenue and Flamingo Road. The ladies were walking to catch a bus when they were hit by the drunk or otherwise  impaired driver, as they attempted to cross the street. Their closes relatives say that the victims were attempting to ride home after visiting a local government office, not far from their home. This hit and run serious motor vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday, sometime in the afternoon. On Saturday, the family of the two Las Vegas locals who lost their lives while walking across the road in Clark County, decided to remember them with a heartfelt memorial service and a candlelight vigil.

The loving way that everyone who attended the vigil spoke about the women who lost their lives was meaningful and devastating. The two who were killed in this Las Vegas hit and run DUI accident were Jazzy Smith, and her mother Carrie Williams-Smith. One woman said she lost both a sister and a mother in that tragic traffic accident.  About two dozen friends and family gathered to remember the women outside of Sunrise Mountain High School, where Jazzy had just graduated from earlier this year. They told stories, lit candles and put them in boxes to block the wind from blowing them out, and talked and wept about this tragedy. The sister and daughter of the deceased led the entire group of gathered Las Vegas locals in prayer. She prayed for peace and comfort while she grieved for the close family that she loved dearly and lost to this terrible hit and run traffic fatality in Clark County.

Hit and run traffic accidents are absolutely terrible, because on top of starting an accident and potentially injuring or killing the other person in the crash, the perpetrator doesn't even stick around to make sure they're ok and to cooperate with authorities. It's even worse when someone, in this case two someones, die because a person decides to get behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated. This type of reckless driving behavior has led to many deaths in the Las Vegas area, and because of it, there is another mother, and another sister who wont be coming home.
