According to a trooper from the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly before 4 in the morning yesterday. It occurred between Jean and St. Rose Parkway. The bill, Assembly Bill 236, has already passed through half of the Nevada State Legislature, having cleared the Nevada State Assembly with strong support from both political parties, garnering 35 “yea” votes out of a possible 42. It likely had to do with a broad base of support, including both individual citizens as well as groups of motorcycle enthusiasts and representatives of the Nevada Department of Public Safety. More details have emerged on the over 650 traffic tickets that were issued recently as part of an enforcement strategy to cut down on the number of auto accidents in Southern Nevada. A terrible accident in Southern Nevada has left one person dead in Henderson, per reports of that city’s police department. This death is the first one of the year due to a traffic accident in Henderson. Residents are speaking out to demand changes and safety upgrades at an intersection where a wheelchair-bound man was recently killed when he was struck by a school bus.
