1 injured, 1 killed in Las Vegas Car Accident

One teen was killed recently, and another remains in critical condition, following an automobile accident in North Las Vegas in the early hours of last Sunday morning. The deceased, a 17 year old man, was driving a sedan when his vehicle was allegedly hit by another vehicle. A female passenger of the sedan, a girl aged 13 who was thought to be related to the deceased, was thrown from the vehicle. Officers believed this was because she did not have on her seat belt at the time of this wrongful death and injury car accident in Clark County. If you’re in an accident like this, or a loved one is killed at no fault of their own, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law can help you deal with the complicated legal proceedings that follow, and get you the compensation you need to move on with your life.

People who knew and went to school with the injured and deceased set up a vigil of sorts at the intersection by placing flowers and candles at the scene of the car crash in North Las Vegas. The parent of a child of a similar age, who was at the scene of this vigil, said he would be hard pressed to find the words to relate what happened here (the car accident) to his own child. A man spoke very kindly of the 17 year old boy who died, mentioning his own pride that children like that were out there. Fellow students, classmates, teachers, and the principal of the school the injured and deceased attended gathered at their high school later in the day, hundreds of people in total.

The driver of the vehicle which allegedly caused this automobile accident in the Las Vegas area suffered only minor injuries. It was initially reported that he may have run a stop sign, and faces possible charges on felony counts pending an investigation involving his possibly having been speeding and perhaps under the influence of alcohol in the Clark County crash.

Vehicle Accident Injures 4, Kills 3 in Las Vegas

Head-on collision auto accidents can be among the worst possible vehicle accidents for injuries and fatalities. This type of accident is so much more dangerous because the speed of the vehicles that hit each other is magnified when they are travelling in opposite directions, thereby compounding each other’s speed. Often times, these accidents occur because of one driver driving the wrong way – either down a one way street or driving on the wrong side. While these types of scenarios can make for adrenaline pumping sequences in highly-choreographed action movies, in real life they often end in terrible tragedy. Such was the case with a recent wrong-way crash in Las Vegas that critically injured four people and killed three others. If you’re ever injured in a terrible, tragic car accident like this, or a loved one is killed, call Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law. We can take care of your case swiftly and effectively, giving you and your loved ones time to heal, and grieve, without worrying about legal ramifications.

This head-on injury accident in Clark County occurred Sunday morning near the Las Vegas Speedway on Interstate 15. Four people were in critical condition after being rushed to University Medical Center, and three people were dead at the scene, after an Acura Legend collided with a GMC Yukon; the Acura was allegedly driving northbound in the southbound lanes of interstate 15, according to Nevada Highway Patrol officers who were on the scene of this horrific vehicle accident in Southern Nevada. Police on the scene suspected that driving under the influence in Las Vegas may have caused the accident, but were still investigating. Troopers on the scene advised that if you’re about to be in a head-on vehicle accident in Southern Nevada, you should steer hard to one direction. This evasive maneuver can help you avoid the worst of the damage from the accident.

Good Samaritan Injured in Hit and Run Accident in Las Vegas

They say no good deed goes unpunished and unfortunately we have a new piece of evidence for that claim, stemming from a recent injury accident in Las Vegas where a man who stopped to help another driver who had been in a car accident was hit by a third vehicle as he was helping the woman. In a cruel twist of fate, and terrible piece of irony, the car that hit this good Samaritan did not stop to help or even see if the man was OK – the vehicle drove away, making this a hit and run accident. The driver of the vehicle that caused the hit and run injury accident in Southern Nevada, a white Mitsubishi, was eventually apprehended, however, and arrested. His vehicle had quite fittingly gotten a flat tire, presumably from the accident, and he and his passenger were found changing it in a parking lot off of Interstate 95, on Jones Boulevard. If you’re in an injury accident in Southern Nevada and need an attorney, call Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law to get the best service, and the best compensation possible, in the Las Vegas Valley.

The original accident occurred early this morning on the Decatur Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 95. A woman, who was allegedly driving under the influence in Las Vegas, is reported to have lost control of her green Toyota Scion and hit a concrete wall. She did not sustain injuries in the crash. The victim of the hit and run stopped to help, and was then hit by the aforementioned white Mitsubishi sometime just after 4 in the morning. The man was severely injured from this auto accident, and taken to University Medical Center in Southern Nevada. He was listed in critical condition as of our most recent update. If you are hurt in an accident like this and need a lawyer, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law should be your first call. We can not only take care of your case, securing the best possible outcome for your claim, we take care of you as a valued client and customer.

Officer Injured in Motorcycle Accident in Las Vegas

We have a tendency sometimes to believe that authority figures are somehow immune from the things they police – that parking meter readers never get parking tickets, tax professionals never get audited, that the people who investigate accidents – police – never get in them. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as a recent accident in Las Vegas involving a motorcycle police officer from the Metro Police Department proved. If you’re injured in a motorcycle accident in Southern Nevada and need a lawyer, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law are best in the business to get you the most compensation for your claim.

The accident in question occurred last week at the intersection of Summerlin Parkway and Durango drive a little before 2 in the afternoon. Early reports point give the impression that the motorcycle cop was making a left hand turn onto Durango off of the on-ramp on Summerlin at the time a vehicle heading north hit him. The officer was thrown from the motorcycle, causing injuries in this vehicle accident in Clark County. If you are injured in an accident like this and need an attorney, Benson & Bingham can help you get the coverage you deserve for your injuries.

The Metro Police Department motorcycle cop was hurt on his upper body, the arms and shoulders to be exact. The injuries were not critical or life threatening, though the officer was taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle that allegedly hit him was not injured, though the vehicle did lose control and end up in the center median after spinning several times, according to reports. The exit for Durango Drive off of Summerlin Parkway was closed for a period of time following the accident, at least in the westbound direction, following this motorcycle injury accident in Las Vegas.

Restaurant Reopened Following Injury Accident — Las Vegas

Finally some happy news from a story we’ve written about several times involving an injury accident in Las Vegas when a car crashed into a local eatery. The restaurant, The Egg and I, located on West Sahara Avenue near the intersection of Avila Street, had been shuttered temporarily over a month ago because of damages to the facility. The restaurant was closed after a sensational accident left 10 people injured in Southern Nevada after a car lost control, due to the driver allegedly driving under the influence in Clark County, and crashed into the busy local eatery during business hours. In a silver lining for the restaurant owners, the forced closure gave them the opportunity to do some much needed interior remodeling of the restaurant. They also saw the need for some additional protection on the patio, placing some enormous boulders there as protection and insurance against something like this ever happening again. If you’re in an injury accident and need a lawyer in Las Vegas, call Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law for a free consultation. Our legal experts understand personal injury law, and can get you the best possible compensation for your injury.

The injury accident in Clark County took place on April 1st. As previously mentioned, 10 people were injured, some of them seriously, and taken to various hospitals in the area. Some of the people who suffered injuries were purportedly trapped under the vehicle where it came to a rest inside the restaurant itself. Bill in State Legislature Aims to Reduce Motorcycle Accidents in Las Vegas

April 30th, 2013 No comments

Motorcycle riders love Nevada. The climate – warm, dry, and lovely open spaces – make it an ideal place for many riders. Nevada, however, does not have one critical thing that would cut down on motorcycles being rear ended in injury accidents in Southern Nevada: lane splitting. Many states, including California, allow motorcycle riders to skip through traffic by sharing lanes with cars. This prevents motorcycle riders from being rear ended in stop and go traffic, which can cause serious injury even if the accident only occurs at 5 or 10 miles per hour. If a member of the Nevada State Assembly has his way, though, this could change. This assemblyman has proposed allowing lane sharing in Nevada, a measure aimed at lowering motorcycle accidents in Las Vegas. If you’re injured in a motorcycle accident anywhere in Clark County, contact Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law. We know accident law, we know motorcycle and personal injury law, and we can help you get the compensation you deserve.

The bill, Assembly Bill 236, has already passed through half of the Nevada State Legislature, having cleared the Nevada State Assembly with strong support from both political parties, garnering 35 “yea” votes out of a possible 42. It likely had to do with a broad base of support, including both individual citizens as well as groups of motorcycle enthusiasts and representatives of the Nevada Department of Public Safety. All these groups and individuals testified, at least in part, that this measure would lower motorcycle accidents in the Las Vegas Valley, among other places. It was also stressed that motorcycle riders can still get speeding tickets in Las Vegas for going too fast while lane splitting; the bill specifically says you have to keep it to 10 miles per hour or less above the speed the other traffic is moving. The bill still has to pass through the Nevada State Senate and be signed by the Governor before it becomes law.

Even though lane splitting may soon be legal, motorcycle injury accidents in the Las Vegas area will still happen. If you are unlucky enough to be involved in a motorcycle accident in Southern Nevada, you need legal representation you can count on. Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law have been representing people injured in motor cycle accidents for years. Our firm prides itself on not only getting you the compensation you need to get your life back together, but also on our customer service that will make you feel like a valued client and customer, not a number. Bicyclist Hurt in Injury Accident on the Las Vegas Strip

April 27th, 2013 1 comment

The Las Vegas Strip can be a dangerous place for pedestrians and bicyclists, with many injury accidents in Southern Nevada occurring right in front of the neon lights and thousands of visitors and vacationers that crowd this iconic and world famous locale. This was unfortunately the case again overnight as a bicyclist was struck from behind by a vehicle in an injury accident in Las Vegas. The bicyclist, a 58 year old man, was brought to University Medical Center, according to police, and was suffering from critical injuries at time of admission. If you or a loved one is injured in an auto accident in Clark County, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law will take care of the legal details for you while you focus on getting better. Our law firm was founded in 2003, and we have been helping people injured in auto accidents get the compensation they deserve ever since.

The accident in question was said to have taken place a little after midnight Friday morning, in the neighborhood of the Circus Circus casino on Las Vegas Boulevard. It was described by police as a vehicle, said to have been a Kia Spectra, model year 2007, hitting the man on his bicycle from behind. The man driving the Kia Spectra, a 21 year old man from Las Vegas, was not charged with any crimes as of yet in this injury accident on the Las Vegas Strip.

These types of car accidents, where a vehicle strikes an unwitting bicyclist or causes a pedestrian injury in Southern Nevada, happen all the time in the Las Vegas Area. When something like this happens, the last thing the injured person wants to worry about is having to fight by themselves for the coverage they need to get better, to pay their medical bills, to cover time lost at work. If you’re injured, you also don’t want to have to search to find good legal representation, nor do you want to feel unimportant to your lawyer. This is why Benson & Bingham get tons of referrals from past clients: we take care of the details for you, but what’s more, your case is important to us. That’s why our lawyers answer the phone, not secretaries or middle men, and we communicate with you every step of the way. And of course, we get you the most compensation possible for your claim, as we have been for our clients since our law firm opened in 2003.

Further Update on Shooting Incident and Wrongful Deaths in Las Vegas

April 26th, 2013 No comments

The man in a story we have written about before, the suspected shooter in a potential wrongful death case in Las Vegas who is alleged to have been involved in an auto accident and gun shooting incident, was indicted today by a grand jury in Clark County. In addition to the previous charges, he faces a new count of sexual assault from a case dating back to 2010. The grand jury indictment included 11 counts – first degree murder of three, attempted murder of one, and more – all from a sensational, headline grabbing incident in February. If a loved one close to you or someone you know dies in an accident, as headline grabbing as this or not, and another person besides them is at fault, it may be a case of wrongful death in Clark County. Should this terrible type of thing occur, you need a good lawyer who will handle the legal aspects and details while you deal with the loss of your loved one. Call Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law, we can help.

The incident that left the three people dead in this auto accident near the Las Vegas Strip, and their families facing a wrongful death case in Southern Nevada, occurred when an argument outside the Aria spilled out onto the streets of the city. The two involved in the argument, including the 27 year old indicted by the grand jury, headed away from the resort in separate vehicles. The alleged perpetrator began shooting at the other vehicle as both cars headed north in the direction of Flamingo Road. The driver of the other vehicle and his passenger were struck by bullets, and the driver lost control of his vehicle. The car then blew through a red light and smashed into a taxicab, causing the taxi to burst into flame. A passenger in the taxi, the driver of the taxi, and the driver of the vehicle that collided with the cab died as a result of their wounds from the accident; three wrongful deaths in the Las Vegas Valley.

Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law can help when you are facing the possibility of a wrongful death case in Southern Nevada. A wrongful death is when a loved one dies as the result of an accident where someone else is at fault, as in this incident, or medical malpractice cases. There are so many details to worry about, from probate to the potential need for autopsies to guardianships and the need file for special damages, many that need to be handled right away. Benson & Bingham will handle these details for you quickly and efficiently.
