Folding Stages and Strollers Pose Las Vegas Injury Risk To Consumers
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission recently announced that it has worked with two manufacturers on product recalls for dangerous products sold at retail outlets throughout Nevada.
In May 2011, in Greenville, SC a little girl, three, died when her church’s portable stage manufactured by Midwest Folding Products collapsed. The collapse happened when the portable stage fell out of the caddy it was manufactured and sold with. Resulting from this death, the USCPC and Midwest Folding Products collaborated to create a repair kit for the folding stage’s caddies. If you own a Midwest Folding Products’ Stage and Caddy, stop using it and contact the company at 800-621-4716 or www.mdiwestfolding.com. The caddies and stages were sold online through the company’s website to schools, performing arts centers, churches and other organizations across the United States.

Kolcraft Enterprises recently announced the recall of 5,600 of tandem strollers braded by the company as Contours Options LT. The front wheels of the strollers are prone to breaking, which could cause the stroller to fall over, and injure a child occupying it. In addition, on strollers sold in early 2012, nuts, screws and washers can easily become loose. There have been six incidents of the stroller wheels breaking although no injuries have been reported. The strollers being recalled were sold in Southern Nevada by Target.com, Burlington Coat Factory and Amazon.com. They retailed for about $250 and bear the model number ZT012. Replacement wheels, screws and nuts for the strollers are available by contacting the manufacturer at 800-453-7673 or by going to www.kolcraft.com. If your child was injured by a defective Kolcraft stroller in Las Vegas, contact Benson and Bingham today for a free legal consultation.
