There’s a vehicle accident in Las Vegas news, but it is anything from the typical accident we write about. For starters, this accident is in Cranston, Rhode Island – not a big contributor to discussions and content on our blog in general. The second thing making this unusual is the type of vehicle involved: an armored bank truck, or “bread truck” as it’s referred to generally by those looking to rob it. No, that’s not what happened here, but by the end there was a little of that flavor to it.

Not to keep you in suspense too much longer, here’s what happened: the armored truck, carrying a load of money, tipped over and spilled bags and bags of currency. The area of the accident was quickly overrun by passers by, though police and other emergency services have not yet definitively said that any money was actually taken. Money being taken at all became a possibility seemingly because the driver lost control of the vehicle. The armored vehicle swerved, left the freeway, and tumbled over on its left side and came to a stop in the grass. Bags of money flew out of the vehicle, adding to the greenery. Both white canvass bags and clear plastic ones containing money were tossed from the vehicle, which predictably brought a number of people hustling that way.

Truthfully, we can’t remember seeing an armored truck accident in Las Vegas in quite some time. It’s been years, we believe, since we’ve written about one (probably been longer since we’ve brought you Las Vegas news from Rhode Island. And while different in those respects, anyone injured in this accident would be in a legal and personal situation like many commercial vehicle accidents we see in Las Vegas all the time.

Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law handle and review Nevada commercial injury accidents frequently, and understand how to get you the compensation you deserve if you’re injured in one of these accidents that was caused by another party. Benson & Bingham understand the differences between commercial and individual vehicle accidents in Las Vegas, and will fight for you against the big insurance companies that commercial vehicle accident insurance companies have to send after you. Henderson Hit and Run Accident Kills One

The death of a 61 year old man is being investigated as a Henderson hit and run traffic accident after the individual was discovered in the road very early this morning. Little is known about the accident at this point. We are not even entirely sure what makes the police believe this was a hit and run, but clearly they are investigating it as just that. There are any number of reasons that it could be under investigation in that manner, such as fresh skid marks by the body, markings from injuries consistent with those that would be sustained by a vehicle accident, eyewitness statements, and any number of other factors. The man was said to have been found lying in the road, which is another indication that the accident was vehicle related. The man was discovered in the right hand turn lane on Galleria Drive, where you would make the turn onto Gibson Drive from the north side of Galleria. He was found around 1:30 in the morning, and died at the scene despite efforts undertaken to save him.

Leaving the scene of an accident is truly one of the most awful things we see. It does happen sometimes that a driver will leave the scene in a panic, and then turn themselves in to the police almost immediately following their Las Vegas hit and run accident. Sometimes, the police will find the driver, and then things turn out all the worse for that individual. And occasionally, the driver is never caught. This last occurrence can be the most difficult for someone injured in a hit and run accident in Southern Nevada, or the family members of someone who is killed. There are medical bills to cover, possible burial costs and estate settling, and lost wages due to time taken off work to deal with this horrible tragedy.

That’s where Benson & Bingham’s top Las Vegas hit and run traffic accident and wrongful death attorneys come in. In hit and run accidents where the driver is never found, your own vehicle insurance, or other types of insurance, may be required to cover these costs. You pay your premium, or your loved one paid theirs, and you should be entitled to the coverage you thought you were getting. If the hit and run driver is located, their insurance should be covering your expenses. Benson & Bingham understand this area of law well, and have helped many families facing this situation before. Another show by the acrobatics and performance art group Cirque du Soleil has injured someone in a Las Vegas show. The show that has been added to that unfortunate list is “O” which is has been running at the Bellagio. It joins the dubious company of Cirque’s “Ka” and “Zarkana,” the latter of which was playing at the Aria. Fortunately this injury is reported to be much less serious than the other two Las Vegas casino show accidents, one of which killed a woman and one of which serious injured another. The death of a performer was an incident in the “Ka” show where a female performer was killed. The “Zarkana” show did serious damage to a performer engaged in a piece of the show called the “Wheel of Death” which fortunately only sent the performer to the hospital, not the cemetery. If you’re injured in an accident in a Las Vegas resort, hotel or casino as a performer or as a spectator, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law can help, as we’ve helped others in your position before.

We here at Benson & Bingham understand these cases either pit you against a giant casino and their army of attorneys, or an insurance company with just as many. Benson & Bingham have sued nearly all the major casinos and insurance companies in the Southern Nevada and produced victories for our clients. We can do it again for you if you’re injured on vacation in a Las Vegas show performance or just about any other way – vehicle accident, pedestrian accident, casino slip and fall – you can get injured in a Clark County Casino or resort. If there’s negligence on the part of another person or entity that caused your injuries we’ll find it and make sure you’re justly compensated for your injuries. Contact Benson & Bingham today for a free consultation.

With this now the third recent accident at a Cirque du Soleil show hopefully the skeptics of the shows are mollified a little, albeit in a terrible way. We’ve certainly heard people poo-poo the shows and the danger in them, the difficulty of the stunts and moves throughout them. Some have been heard to suggest hidden safety wires, harnesses, and who knows what else. The death of one woman, and the injuries of two other performers, hopefully is all that is needed to convince these skeptics that the danger in the shows in real, the stunts are pushing the limits of abilities of the performers, and generally that the rise you get out of watching them is very real, not manipulated, awe.

Fortunately, a Las Vegas motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles flipping and another vehicle in on the melee did not end in death. It was even unclear, hours after the accident, whether anyone was injured at all. We suspect that people were in an accident this big and dramatic. The fact that there were no immediate fatalities or reported cases of people being taken to Sunrise Hospital or University Medical Center in critical condition can be taken as good signs. Our best guess here at Benson & Bingham is that all the occupants of the vehicles involved in the crash were wearing their safety belts. You can never be sure from the outside, but typically the only way an accident like this doesn’t do serious damage is with seatbelts protecting all the drivers and passengers. As we’ve written about before on these blogs, we highly recommend seatbelts. They can mean the difference between needing a good Las Vegas accident attorney, and walking away no problem or with minor injuries as opposed to being wheeled into the intensive care unit.

Of course, this should not be taken to mean that people injured while not wearing their seatbelts in some way deserve it. If the Southern Nevada injury vehicle accident was not their fault, they are still due compensation for their injuries and headache as much as someone who took every precaution in the book. At Benson & Bingham, we help everyone injured in accidents caused by another party. We also encourage everyone to take basic precautions, like wearing seatbelts, because we understand, from our daily work, just what a difference they can or could have made in people’s lives. But no matter what: if you’re hurt in a car crash in Clark County, Benson & Bingham are here to help – contact us today for a free consultation.

This accident occurred a little before 4:30 in the afternoon yesterday, Monday. How the accident came to pass is still very much under investigation. What we do know is that three vehicles were involved in this Las Vegas car accident that took place in the Paradise and Tropicana area. Two of the three vehicles rolled during the accident. Not much more is known.

Police have arrested a suspect in a case we wrote about just very recently involving two motorcycles and one fatality. This is story, you may recall, of one biker allegedly hitting the other motorcycle, causing him to crash, and then riding off. Las Vegas man Julius Gerald, 31 years old, was killed when he lost control of his bike after another bike hit him. After striking the center divider he was thrown in front of a semi which hit and killed him. The other biker drove off, the one suspected to have caused the accident. The man suspected to be that biker was taken into custody today and suspected of being the missing rider in this Las Vegas fatal motorcycle accident. If you’re injured in an accident or a friend or family member is killed in a bike crash in Las Vegas, Benson & Bingham Attorneys at Law can help. Whether it’s an immediately recognizable case of an accident caused by a third party or not, we’ve got your back in coming battle with insurance companies to get you and the accident covered.

The man was arrested at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He is said to be a 27 year old from California, Maurice Richardson, who police heard would be at the Speedway at that time. He was charged with a number of misdemeanors and felonies, and has old charges and warrants out for him. Per the records from the courts, he was wanted for drug possession and driving under the influence. He was charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident, reckless driving for the accident itself, and not having a valid driver’s license as well.

Motorcycle accidents are not uncommon in this area, unfortunately. Benson & Bingham’s experienced Las Vegas motorcycle death attorneys have handled a number of these cases before, and helped grieving families of the deceased to get the legal representation they need, that will make the difference and really make their lives easier in a small but meaningful way. Benson & Bingham offer free consultations as well, so please come speak with us even if your circumstance isn’t as immediately clear that the accident was the fault of another.

Commercial Vehicle Accident in Las Vegas Near Iconic “Welcome” Sign

We’re following a story that is developing this evening involving a commercial vehicle accident in Las Vegas near our iconic “Welcome” sign. The sign, “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas,” is about as famous a landmark as anything in Las Vegas – any movie or television show featuring our city invariably has a scene with a shot of the sign. Unlike a skyline shot that you see of other cities where unless you intimately know the city you might not immediately know what you’re looking at, the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign makes it pretty clear what location you’re seeing. The accident this evening occurred on that stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard that the sign overlooks. That is the area on the south end of town near the intersection with Russell Road, if you’re somehow unfamiliar with the area. If you’ve never been there, you should go – though probably not this evening.

This Clark County commercial vehicle accident occurred a few minutes before 10 o’clock this evening (Thursday, August 21st). The commercial vehicle is said to be some sort of a pickup truck which was carrying chemicals in a trailer or hitch. The pickup rolled over in the accident and the chemicals spilled out onto the street. Several people have been brought to University Medical Center already. So far their injuries have not been reported to be serious – we hope this stays the case. Since it’s only a couple of hours since the accident there is little yet known (or released, anyway) regarding the cause of this commercial vehicle accident in Southern Nevada. We do know that traffic is pretty well snarled in that area as the southbound direction of Las Vegas Boulevard is totally closed in the area.

Accidents in Nevada involving commercial vehicles can be tricky, and difficult for people injured in those accidents to get the compensation they deserve for their injuries. Benson & Bingham deal with these accidents a lot, and understand how to go about getting adequate coverage for our clients. We know when the cap on commercial vehicles’ liability coverage is actually a cap, and when it is not. If you’ve been injured in a commercial vehicle accident in Las Vegas or the surrounding area, you need to speak with top Las Vegas injury lawyers like we have to help determine if you have a case to pursue. Benson & Bingham offer free consultations so you don’t have to worry about out of pocket expenses and can come speak with us even if you’re not sure you have a claim to pursue. Contact us today.
